The Workshop Behind Fatt Interior

The Workshop Behind Fatt Interior

A two-person carpentry workshop in Galla Industrial Park, Seremban. We measure, cut, edge, assemble and install the same job, which is the only reason we can talk about it in this much detail.

How this started

This is a family workshop. It began as a carpenter working for other people's companies, cutting other people's designs, and watching a homeowner pay two or three times what the panels and the labour actually came to. The margin was not going into better hardware or thicker board. It was going into the layers between the bench and the front door.

So the bench moved. Fatt Interior is that same carpenter, now cutting directly for the person who will live with the result. The registration is recent even though the trade is not, and we say so plainly rather than dressing the business up as older than it is.

What factory-direct actually means here

It means the panels are cut in our unit at Galla Industrial Park, on our machines, by us. There is no design studio that subcontracts a fabricator, and no fabricator who has never met you. When you ask why a door is priced the way it is, the answer comes from the person who cut it.

It also means fewer people to hide behind. If a drawer front sits a millimetre proud, there is nobody else to blame and nobody else to chase. That is a real constraint on how much work we take at once, and it is why we would rather quote a scope honestly than win it and rush it.

What it does not mean is that we are the cheapest quotation you will get. A thinner carcass, unsealed edges and unbranded runners will always undercut us. The comparison worth making is not the total at the bottom of the page but what the specification actually says.

Who does the work

The workshop is run by a master carpenter with around thirty years at the bench, working alongside one other craftsman. Between them they handle the measure, the cut list, the edging, the assembly and the install.

Because it is two people, we do not run several sites in parallel. A job gets the bench, then the lorry, then the house, in that order, and the person who tightens the last hinge is the person who set out the first panel.

How far we go

Seremban and the towns around it are the core of the work: Sendayan, Seremban 2, Nilai, Senawang and Port Dickson are all inside a comfortable day. Kuala Lumpur and Melaka are about an hour each, and we take work in both, planned so that the measure is complete in one visit and the load arrives finished.

We are honest about the edge of that radius. Past a certain distance the cost of going back for one adjustment stops making sense for either side, and we will say so rather than take the deposit.

What we do not do

We do not sell ready-made furniture, and we do not carry stock. Every piece is cut for a measured opening, so there is nothing to walk in and buy.

We do not publish a rate card, because a running foot of cabinetry means different things depending on the carcass, the door, the hardware and the wall behind it. Where this site quotes money at all, it quotes third-party Malaysian market ranges with the source named, and it says plainly that those are not our prices.

We do not claim credentials we cannot show you. The SSM number above is the registration this business actually holds, and there is nothing else pinned to the wall.

Come and see the bench

The workshop is open during working hours and there is no showroom to walk through first. Message us before you drive over so someone is there rather than out on an install.
