Renovation and Kitchen Cabinets in Melaka
We do renovation carpentry in Melaka, such as kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and TV walls, made in our Seremban workshop and installed by the two of us. Bigger or L-shaped kitchens with a quartz or sintered stone top commonly cost RM 15,000 to RM 50,000, while a compact 10-ft set starts around RM 9,000. Those published prices are set for the Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan, so for Melaka we confirm the figure after measuring.
Our Melaka jobs so far are landed homes. Taman Ozana Impian was a landed home renovation with bespoke carpentry and a spacious living room design, and Taman Merdeka Permai was landed property work covering carpentry and renovation.
Many Melaka estates are double-storey terraces with a long, narrow kitchen at the back. That shape suits a straight or L-shaped run, with the wet kitchen kept at the rear.

- Older terrace streets near the airport and the industrial areas. Many kitchens are original and ready for a refit.

- Newer landed estates and some high-rise blocks west of town along the coast. Homes near the water get more damp, salty air.
- Alor Gajah
- Quieter landed estates in the north of the state, on the way down from Seremban.

Do you take renovation jobs in Melaka?

We focus on the carpentry: kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, TV walls, shoe cabinets and living room storage. For a full landed house job, plan on 4 to 8 weeks, with the exact time set by the scope.
How should I plan the kitchen in a Melaka terrace house?
Start with where the sink, hob and fridge go, then fit the cabinets around them. In a long terrace kitchen, a straight run along one wall or an L-shape usually works better than an island.
Keep the heavy cooking in the wet kitchen at the back and use the dry kitchen for storage and light cooking. Plywood carcasses with laminate doors handle the steam and water near the sink.
Is it worth getting cabinets from Seremban instead of a Melaka shop?
It can be, if you want to deal directly with the people who build your cabinets. There is no showroom or salesperson with us, and you can see the boards at our Galla workshop before deciding.
A local shop is closer for small fixes later, and that is a fair point to weigh. Ask any workshop, including us, what board the carcass uses and who does the install.
Can you do the living room as well as the kitchen?
Yes. The Taman Ozana Impian job included a spacious living room design alongside the carpentry, and our price for an 8-ft TV feature wall begins at RM 1,300.
Doing the kitchen, wardrobes and TV wall in one batch saves trips from Seremban, and the door colours can be matched across the house.
Our Projects in Melaka
From Galla to Melaka
Melaka is roughly an hour to an hour and a half from our workshop on the North-South Expressway, depending on which side of Melaka you are on. Ayer Keroh and Alor Gajah are the quickest to reach.
Since it is a longer drive, we try to take every measurement in one site visit. All panels are cut and edged in Seremban and brought down together for the install.

- Do you build cabinets for heritage shophouses in Melaka town?
- Ask us first with photos. Shophouses in the heritage zone come under conservation rules, so check with the city council before changing anything fixed to the building.
- My house in Melaka is newly handed over. Where do I start?
- Decide the kitchen layout and any tiling or wiring changes first. We take the final measure after those are done, and our new-house checklist below lists the usual order.
- Do you make wardrobes for rental houses?
- Yes. For a rented house, laminate doors that wipe clean and simple inside fittings are the practical choice. A 6-ft floor-to-ceiling wardrobe starts from RM 5,000.
- Do you also make aluminium cabinets?
- No. We only build plywood cabinets with laminate finishes.
